Village pour la Paix
Start of the session
01 October 2020
End of the session
02 October 2020

Once again, the Forum will welcome the European Parliament to the Village and will feature the institution in its programme. The European Parliament will be represented by its Research Service (EPRS), which will take part in debates and will present various studies, including one focusing on European initiatives to promote peace and security in the Sahel.

Made possible by the partnership between the European Parliament and the Normandy Region and developed with the European Parliament’s Research Service and the Institute of Economics and Peace, the Normandy Index was published for the first time at the 2019 edition of the Normandy World Peace Forum. This index provides a scientific basis  to measure conflict on a global scale, country by country and year on year. It also provides a comprehensive view of the world’s various regions through the prism of research on peace, measured in view of the major threats to international security. It was designed for policy makers in Europe and around the world as a tool which enables them to develop targeted activities and campaigns. The index is also concise and easily understandable, so that the general public can better perceive global threats.

Work on the 2020 Normandy Index will be presented in the Village.
