Débat The Middle East: rebuilding in uncertain times Edition 2020 Start of the session 02 October 2020 16h30 End of the session 02 October 2020 18h00 Salle Azur Having been witness to several decades of conflict, the Middle East is facing a major challenge as it works to rebuild itself during this period of geopolitical change, crisis and uncertainty. With weakened institutions, huge numbers of children not attending school and entire cities having been decimated, it seems that everything needs to be rebuilt in countries like Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria, both in terms of infrastructure and society. How will the choices concerning this reconstruction determine tomorrow’s peace? How are local populations addressing these challenges to rebuild a resilient society?
