Caen - The Abbaye aux Dames - Village for Peace
The Coexister association was created in 2009, following the Operation Cast Lead, which took place in the Gaza Strip, and as a result of the clashes that took place between the two pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protests in the neighborhood of Gare du Nord, in Paris. At the call of the leaders of the parish of Saint-Léon, the synagogue Adath Shalom and the mosque of the rue de Javel, all three located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, an interfaith prayer gathering is organized. At the end of this one, Samuel Grzybowski (Christian, age sixteen) proposes the foundation of a group of interreligious dialogue intended mainly for young people: the Coexister association. Interfaith Tour : "Opening session of the Interfaith tour" in the presence of Floraine Jullian one of the four young people of this 4th edition. The interfaith tour is four young people (Catholic, Muslim, atheist and Jewish) who go around the world of inter-religious initiatives. They will study the best initiatives of 20 countries on 5 continents, for 8 months from August 2019, and will organize restitution conferences of this project, the two months following their return, and in particular at the time of the 3rd edition of the Normandy Peace Forum for the final session.
