"BAYEUX CALVADOS NORMANDY AWARD FOR WAR CORRESPONDENTS ": Since 1994, the city of Bayeux, associated with the department of Calvados and the Normandy Region, organizes this prize intended to pay tribute to the journalists who exercise their profession under dangerous conditions to allow us to access a free information. Its teams will offer you a retrospective of the winners of previous editions. The exhibition on the village will be devoted to "Congo, an endless crisis". One out of seven Congolese needs humanitarian assistance. More than two-thirds of the population lives on less than € 2 per day and up to five million would have lost their lives in an endless conflict where dozens of armed groups clash for the control of rich regions full of natural resource, of this great country four times like France. Six months ago, the Congolese people went to the polls. Felix Tshisekedi succeeded Joseph Kabila; results contested by civil society and other candidates. The images in this exhibition are not an exhaustive reflection of the recent history of the Democratic Republic of Congo. These are just meetings over the last 20 years from Goma to Kinshasa.
