George Gray Molina is Chief Economist at UNDP’s global policy bureau. He is a former Chief Economist for UNDP’s Latin American and the Caribbean bureau, and a former Chief Economist at the Ministry of the Presidency (UDAPE) in his home country, Bolivia. His work focuses on global trends, policy reform and poverty and inequality in the developing world. He is the co-author of “Temporary Basic Income: Protecting Poor and Vulnerable People in Developing Countries” (UNDP, 2020) and co-author of “Beyond Recovery: a Leap into the Future” (UNDP, 2020). He holds a BA in Economics from Cornell University, an MPP in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and a Dphil in Politics from Nuffield College, University of Oxford. He was a Global Leader’s Fellow at Princeton and Oxford, and taught public policy at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
