The ETUPO project Bandama Valley was initiated in April 2018 following a first contact visit in the city of Bouaké, Ivory Coast, and then implemented from September 2018 to September 2019, thanks to support from the Normandy region through its Normandy for Peace initiative for the actions carried out over the period September 2018 to June 2019. A relay association, Urgence eau  Côte d'Ivoire (UECI) was set up.
