Video produced by the Normandy Region
Date of production: 2019

Nobel Peace Prize 2018, the Congolese Denis Mukwege is nicknamed "the man who repairs women". In his Panzi clinic in South Kivu, the gynecologist has been treating and denouncing genital mutilation in the Democratic Republic of Congo for more than 20 years. Through his work between 1993 and 2003, hundreds of war crimes and crimes against humanity were recorded in the Congo. Yet, ten years after the publication of his report, the names of the perpetrators have never been revealed and no crime has been tried. In all forums and at the 2019 Normandy World Peace Forum, the tireless human rights activist speaks up and accuses "to tell the world what is happening in the Congo and try to make it take responsabilities for what is now a weapon of war.
