She holds a master's degree in Anthropology and a postgraduate degree in Political Science. She has been leading social and humanitarian programmes for over twenty years. She has worked as a programme manager for Médecins Sans Frontières and Médecins du Monde in numerous crisis areas in Africa, the Middle East and the Caucasus, as well as in the headquarters of these NGOs in France, the Netherlands and the United States. She has also managed medico-social teams and supported stakeholders in the fight against exclusion in France (associations, local authorities and foundations) within the National Federation of Associations for Social Reinsertion (now FAS) and has worked as a consultant.

She co-founded the association, SOS MEDITERRANEE, in May 2015 with the German merchant marine captain, Klaus Vogel, and is the association's general manager in France and vice-president of the European network which has four subsidiaries (Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland). The French association, based in Marseille, currently employs around 30 people and is deployed through 19 branches and 650 volunteers in France.
