The monopolisation of waterways shared by several countries, climate change, demographic pressures and pollution are potential destabilising factors when it comes to water supply. In addition to these geopolitical risks, there are also health considerations: access to clean water is vital for human health. How can we develop water diplomacy to bring countries together and to ensure peace? The debate will be opened by a keynote introduction from Gilbert F. Houngbo, President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development and Chair of UN-Water.
