The COVID-19 pandemic will deeply disrupt international relations. Internationally, this crisis has produced far more protectionist reactions than global solidarity. A pragmatic approach, driven by economic and strategic interests, seems to have taken precedence over shared values and shared security as the building blocks of geopolitical alliances.
