Anthony Aguirre is a the Faggin Professor of the Physics of Information at University of California at Santa Cruz. His research has spanned a very wide variety of topics from foundational physics to AI policy. He currently serves as Executive Vice-President and head of policy and strategy at the Future of Life Institute, an international NGO focusing on the implications of transformational technology.   He is also the co-founder and President of Metaculus, an online science and technology forecasting platform, and is the co-founder and Director of the Foundational Questions Institute, a US nonprofit supporting fundamental physics research.
