Boris Akunin is the pen name of Grigory Chkhartishvili  (born 1956), a Russian writer living in London. He is a writer of fiction and non-fiction, a playwright and an essayist.

Akunin’s works have been translated into more than 40 languages and have sold a total of over 30 million copies.
