Elisabeth Decrey Warner

 

Elisabeth Decrey Warner co-founded the Geneva Appeal in 1998 and held the position of Executive President until she joined the Board of Trustees in 2018, nominated Honorary President. She has always worked with NGOs on issues related to refugees, disarmament and humanitarian standards. She was a member of the Parliament of the Republic and Canton of Geneva for 12 years and was elected President in 2000.

She has been internationally recognized for her outstanding contribution to peace. She was nominated for Switzerland as one of 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. Among her many awards, she received the most prestigious title of France, Knight of the Legion of Honor, an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Geneva and the Hessian Prize in Germany.

Mrs. Decrey Warner has been President of the Council of the World Organization Against Torture and a member of several Founding Councils.
She is currently an Associate Member of the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP).
