Pierre Denise

 

Pierre Denise was elected president of the University of Caen-Normandy in 2016 by the board of directors of the establishment. He had been director of the Faculty of Medicine since February 2014. He is professor of universities-hospital practitioner in medical physiology at the University of Caen-Normandy since 1996. He began his medical studies at the University of Rouen from 1976 to 1979, pursued at Pierre University and Marie-Curie where he obtained a doctorate in neuroscience in 1987.

From 1987 to 1991, he was chief resident, then associate professor (1991-1996) at the University of Caen-Normandie and finally, since 1996, professor of universities-hospital practitioner. He has managed the UMR (mixed research unit) "mobilities: attention, orientation and chronobiology" from 2009 to 2014, and the direction of the structure "Interactions Cells Environment Organizations" from 2013 to 2014. It is since the Deputy Director of these bodies.

Member of the scientific council of the university from 2008 to 2012, he was the second vice-president from 2010 to 2012. Since 2012, he was elected to the university's board of directors.
