A PhD student at the University of Kent in International Relations, Nicolas Desgrais is also a Teaching Assistant at SciencesPo and at the Brussels School of International Studies. After various professional experiences within the Ministry of Defense, from the Africa Office of the Armed Forces Staff (EMA) to the Institute for Strategic Research of the Military School (IRSEM), then by the Defense Mission of the French Embassy in Nigeria, his doctoral research now focuses on military cooperation in the Sahel in the fight against terrorism, notably through a comparative study of the G5 Sahel Joint Force (FC-G5S) and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MMF) of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC).
