Alain Dieckhoff is research director at the CNRS. He graduated from the University Paris-10 Nanterre and Sciences Po. He obtained his Ph.D. in political sociology at the University Paris-10 Nanterre. His main field of research focuses on politics, contemporary society and state transformations in Israel. He is also working on the changes of contemporary nationalism. He teaches at Sciences Po, both at the University College and Master (Doctoral School, PSIA).

He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Politics and Societies, Maghreb-Mashrek, International Issues, Israel Studies, and a member of the Editorial Board of Critique International. Since January 2014, Alain Dieckhoff is director of CERI. He was previously director of Sciences Po's political science department.
