Jacques Garat

 

Jacques Garat is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Paris and the Institute of Political Studies of Paris. He began his career as a journalist with the editorial staff of Radio Monte Carlo in 1959. In late 1968, he launched the monthly magazine Le Fait public, created by the Union of Television Journalists and was deputy editor until 1970.

In 1970, he becomes presenter of Aujourd'hui Madame then, in 1975, its editor. In 1981, he became editorial director and advisor to the director general for the information and programs of Radio Monte Carlo, until 1986. In 2002, he participated in the creation of the association Lire dans le noir which publishes audio recordings of novels, read by their authors, and wishes to promote the development of these media. In 2003, he recorded the first audio book, C'est bien, with the help of its author Jean d'Ormesson.
