Steve Killelea

 

Steve Killelea  A.M. Chairman and founder: A global philanthropist focused on peace and sustainable development, with a long, successful career in high technology and international business development. Over the last two decades, Steve has applied his business skills to his many global philanthropic activities, established an internationally renowned global think tank, the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) in 2007 and a private family organisation, The Charitable Foundation (TCF). He is the founder of Integrated Research Ltd (IR), an Australian publicly-listed company and also the founder of the Global Peace Index, the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness covering 163 countries and independent territories. He currently serves on the President’s Circle for Club de Madrid, the largest forum of democratic former presidents and prime ministers working to strengthen democracy. He is trustee and treasurer for Religion for Peace.

Steve has received numerous awards including: • Gold Medal, Global Business and Interfaith Peace Awards in the category Advocacy and Public Policy Engagement, 2018 • Rotary Award of Honour, 2018 • Luxembourg Peace Prize, 2016 • “Top 100 Most Influential People in Armed Violence Reduction”, 2013 • Phelophepa Award for Excellence from Desmond Tutu, 2008 – for his commitment to African development • “Soldiers of Peace” the documentary film Steve produced in 2008, has received international acclaim and won a number of awards.
