Dr. Dörte Liebetruth has been a directly elected Member of the State Parliament of Lower Saxony since November 2017. She is a substitute member of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. Before 2017 she had been working in the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Health and Equal Opportunities. Her PhD thesis “Anchoring Europe at the local level” dealt with local EU coverage for regional newspapers in Lower Saxony, Germany.
