A historian, former director of research at the CNRS (modern and contemporary history) and scientific director of the Caen Memorial, Claude Quétel is the author of numerous works on the Second World War. He is also the director of several collective works (just published: La Seconde Guerre mondiale vue d’ailleurs, published by Buchet-Chastel). In 2012, he published MURS – Une autre histoire des hommes (Tempus, 2014).
