Sarah Taylor

 

Sarah Taylor joined IPI in August 2017, and is responsible for the organization’s work on women, peace and security. Dr. Taylor has conducted research on women conflict negotiators and has written on numerous aspects of the women, peace and security agenda. She has researched and published on international accountability frameworks on women’s rights in conflict, and on women, peace and security concerns in specific country situations. As part of her leadership of the NGOWG, she led civil society efforts to monitor the UN Security Council, including through developing innovative policy briefings and accountability tools on women, peace and security. She holds an MA from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, and an MPhil and a PhD from the New School for Social Research in New York, all in Political Science. Prior to joining IPI she held positions at Human Rights Watch and the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security.
