Cécile Vaissié, PhD in political science, is a professor of Russian and Soviet studies at the University of Rennes 2. She is a specialist in the history of intellectuals in the USSR, the history of resistance and opposition in the USSR and Russia, and Soviet and Russian influence policies. She has written several books and numerous articles on these subjects.

Her next book, on Sartre and the USSR will be published in 2023.
