For the second edition of the Normandy World Peace Forum, several public figures from Colombia crossed the Atlantic to share their experiences and analysis of their country’s situation with the Forum’s audience.

Since the agreements signed in 2016, the Government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army (FARC-EP) have committed to a peace process. If efforts and reconciliation initiatives are not lacking, even manage to change the image of the country internationally to promote a certain revival of tourism to this destination (Debate: Sustainable Tourism, a passport for peace) , the news recalls that peace is still fragile. Reuters unveiled on June 5 the findings of a confidential Colombian report that would indicate the resumption of arms by 31 FARC groups in coca growing and gold mining areas.

How can a country bruised by 50 years of conflict be able to pacify relations between yesterday's enemies? It was one of the main themes of the Normandy World Peace Forum on June 4 and 5, 2019, which brought together several Colombian "Peace Makers": young footballers from the Paz Futbol Club in Bogota, Gonzalo Restrepo López, president of the Casino Foundation and member of the negotiating delegation of the Colombian government during the Havana peace process or Joan Toro, a photographer who through "Colombia on my mind" expresses a personal vision of this country torn between desire for peace and recourse to violence.
