The countries of the European Union were close partners with African countries for a long time. But the explicit will of numerous states to broaden their relations with new actors like Russia, Turkey, China, India or countries of the Persian Gulf is questioning the traditional relations, while African public opinions are demonstrating a scepticism and an inscreasing hostility towards European politics.
