Working as a journalist for almost 25 years, including nearly two decades in Africa, I have explored the continent, working firstly for Marchés Tropicaux before joining Jeune Afrique’s editorial staff in 2003. As a specialist in maritime economics and agriculture, I focused initially on Central Africa, before concentrating on the political situation in the east of the continent, from the Indian Ocean to the Horn of Africa. I have visited the region between Djibouti and Ethiopia more than fifteen times in the last five years. I also spent ten years in Australia as the Asia-Pacific correspondent for the French press.
