Violaine de Villemeur was appointed special envoy for Belarus at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in Paris. She is a career diplomat, specialising in European and continental European issues, and has notably served as French Ambassador to Uzbekistan. She is also a Chevalier of the Order of Merit and a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour
