Olivier Faury is an associate professor of logistics and international transport at EM Normandie. His thesis, completed in 2016, addressed the economic attractiveness of the Northern Sea Route compared to the route through the Suez Canal. Since 2013, his research has focused on three areas. The first deals with the economic viability of this shipping route for bulk carriers and container ships. The second focuses on maritime risk management in the Russian Arctic and includes legal issues. Finally, the third point concerns the development of port infrastructure and the renewal of Russia's icebreaker fleet. He is the co-editor of a book on maritime issues published by ROUTLEDGE and the author of academic articles and chapters on the subject.
