Wadiaa Khoury

Wadiaa Khoury (PhD), Associate Professor and Researcher at Saint-Joseph University (USJ) and at the Lebanese University.

Khoury worked as a researcher with Tempus Euro-Med projects; as a senior coach with USAID and as a curriculum designer and senior coach on “Diversity, Living Together and Peace” with Adyan Foundation and CERD (the Center of Education Research and Development). 

In 2020 she did a postdoctoral research on “Innovation in Education in the Service of Peace Education” as a visiting Fulbright Scholar at Florida State University (FSU). 

Khoury is part of Initiatives of Change - International since 2001 and has worked with IofC teams in over 20 countries on Trust Building and Reconciliations initiatives. She served between 2017 and 2019 as member of IofC’s International Council. 

Khoury recently initiated an Association called "TASC: Teachers as Agents of Social Change'', which is becoming a movement of educators who believe their role includes being catalysts of positive change, starting with their own selves and students. The work with the teachers has been mainly focuses on Reconciliation and Reform. In collaboration with USJ, CERD and with other entities like the “Leadership Academy for Peace” and “nafda Lebanon” association, TASC tirelessly creates tools (guide books, educational games…) to develop Active Citizenship and animates trainings of trainers to help forming the “creative minority” of change makers. 

She continues to be an active in various initiatives with the Lebanese Diaspora and the Comité d'aide Scolaire de Zahle, mostly bringing answers to the needs that emerged from the crisis Lebanon is going through since 2019.
