Jean-Marie Lemaire

 

Jean-Marie Lemaire has been a reporter and a cameraman since 1985. He has covered many conflicts: the Gulf War, Lebanon, Afghanistan, the Balkans, Gaza, Somalia, Rwanda, Liberia, DRC (formerly Zaire), Iraq, Libya and has produced news reports, magazines and documentaries in more than 80 countries. He was part of the first TV crew to pass the Sarajevo blockade in 1992 with Martine Laroche Joubert for Antenne 2. From 1992 to 1995, he was a correspondent in Bosnia, based in Sarajevo for the duration of the war. In 1994, he won a prize at the Angers International Festival for Autopsie d’un Génocide (Autopsy of a Genocide), a 90-minute documentary which he produced with Pascal Richard during the Rwandan genocide. In 2011, he was shot and wounded during the Libyan revolution while working as a special envoy for France 24.
