As the head of climate for the NGO Care France, Marie Leroy provides CARE’s teams with technical support to implement climate change adaptation projects in different regions around the world, focusing particularly on the lives of women and girls. She also helps to develop political messages and recommendations for French and international public authorities to raise awareness of the unique vulnerability of women and their role when it comes to climate change. Having graduated from Sciences-Po Paris with a degree in climate, environment and risks, Marie’s career began at the French Development Agency as a researcher on rural development issues. Marie then spent 3 years working for the UN Environment Programme, co-ordinating the roll-out of a regional energy efficiency project which was overseen by Asian governments. She joined CARE in 2017.
