Jean-Pierre Maulny is Deputy Director of the Institute of International and Strategic Relations (IRIS). Holder of a DEA defense and a DEA in public law, auditor of the 31st session of the CHEAr, Jean-Pierre Maulny was in charge of mission to the president of the Defense Committee and armed forces of the Assembly from 1997 to 2002.

At IRIS, Jean-Pierre Maulny is responsible for studies related to defense policy, CSDP and NATO, the arms industry and arms sales. He heads ARES Group, a network of European researchers specializing in defense industry issues.

Jean-Pierre Maulny is a member of the Editorial Board of the International and Strategic Review. He teaches courses on the arms industry and defense policy at IRIS Sup'.
