Catherine Turner

 

Dr Catherine Turner is an academic and trainer with a background in practice. She is Associate Professor of International Law at Durham University (UK) and the Deputy Director of the Durham Global Security Institute where she researches and teaches in the fields of public international law, international humanitarian law and conflict mediation. She is a member of MediatEUR (The European Platform for International Mediation and Dialogue), and sits on the board of Mediation Northern Ireland. She specialises in training and facilitation in mediation and transitional justice to support women’s participation in peace processes. Catherine holds a PhD in transitional justice from Queen’s University Belfast as well as a postgraduate law degree in public international law from the London School of Economics and a Bachelors of Law from Trinity College Dublin.
