The concept of the Global South tends to illustrate a return to dividing the international order into geopolitical blocs. This has meant that the world is no longer divided into the East, the West and the Third World, but separated according to a North–South axis that is both geographical and ideological.
This split was then further accentuated by the upsurge in wars across the world, which are now likely to reinforce these divisions between the North and the South. In the face of these risks, we need to understand the realities reflected in the concept of the Global South, in order to better rethink peace.
