From trade wars between the US and China to attacks in the Red Sea, attributed to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, economic sanctions due to the war in Ukraine to institutions that have become battlegrounds, there are ever-increasing barriers to world trade that are hindering the peace promised by the European experiment. 

Economic multilateralism is being replaced by bilateralism, and globalisation by regionalisation. How can we restore confidence in globalisation to build a peaceful future?
