Most of the crises in Africa form part of a regional dynamic. This is the case of the Sahel-Saharan region, which has become significantly more violent in the last decade. This is evidenced by the resurgence of terrorism, inter-community clashes and crime caused by drug trafficking. Health crises are also large-scale challenges. How can states, sub-regional organisations and the African Union co-operate on security issues? How effective is this at regional and continental levels?

Because of the sanitary crisis, some speakers will address the conference through videos: Isabelle Ioannides, Annadif Khatir Mahamat Saleh
