Born in Paris in 1978, Justine Augier initially worked in the humanitarian sector before she began to write novels, stories and reports.

She has lived in Kabul, Jerusalem and Beirut and has published texts with Stock and Actes-Sud which examine the notion of engagement and the possibility of finding one’s place in the contemporary world.

Her latest book, De l’Ardeur, an investigative work focusing on the Syrian revolution and the disappearance of the lawyer Razan Zaitouneh, won the Prix Renaudot, a literary award for essays, in 2017.
