Adam Hug previously served as the Director of the Foreign Policy Centre, a London based international affairs think tank, from 2017-2022 overseeing the FPC's operations and strategic direction. He was previously policy director from 2008 to 2017. His research focus was on UK Foreign Policy, governance and human rights issues, particularly in the former Soviet Union. He was elected to the full-time role of Leader of Westminster City Council in May 2022.
