Olivier Wieviorka

 

Historian, editor-in-chief of the magazine Vingtième Siècle, professor at the École Normale Supérieure of Cachan, Olivier Wieviorka is a recognized specialist in the Resistance and the Second World War, to whom he devoted several books, including a authoritative History of the D-Day in Normandy and a critically acclaimed History of the Resistance, awarded by the French Academy and acclaimed by the public. He also co-directed, with Jean Lopez, The Myths of the Second World War (2 volumes). His last book: History of Resistance in Western Europe.

He also works for the newspaper Libération, writing reviews of historical works.
