With an eye on China and India, the US has no intention of reducing its presence in Asia and accordingly, it has increased alliances with partners such as Japan, South Korea, Australia and the Philippines. While they all recognise the US as the military superpower, they have engaged in dialogue with neighbouring countries, some of which are rivals or former enemies.
What could be the consequences of these new alliances in international relations?
