Described as the lungs of the planet, the Amazon is at the centre of a range of divergent interests. Although this vast and unspoiled area is crucial to the future of mankind, it is also seen as being of economic benefit by several countries, including Jair Bolsonaro’s Brazil who has called for his country’s sovereignty to be respected. What solutions can environmental law and international organisations provide to protect this unique natural resource? What role can indigenous populations play in these discussions?

Because of the sanitary crisis, some speakers will address the conference through videos: Cacique Ninawa, François-Michel Le Tourneau
