Founded to secure lasting peace, the European Union works with several countries outside its borders to encourage development and to ensure conflict resolution. While member states’ positions may differ, joint diplomatic efforts continue. During the COVID-19 crisis, after some initial uncertainty, ambitious recovery plans were established, including plans to help other countries to tackle the pandemic. What record does the EU have when it comes to helping other countries in times of crisis?
