Biography 

Born in Hafnarfjörður on February 9, 1975. Spouse: Kristján Guy Burgess, Specialist in International Relations. Children: Amíra Snærós ( 2003), Bjartur (2012), Snæfríður (2013).  

Education 

• DELF degree in French from the Université de Stendhal, Grenoble, France 1996.  
• Degree from the Iceland Tourist Guide School in 1998 and a degree as a Mountain Guide from Iceland Tourist Guide School  2003.  
  • BA Degree in French and Media studies at the University of Iceland 2000. 

Work 

• Executive Director of the Left Green Movement´s Parliamentary Group 2015–2016.  
• Press Officer of the Minister of Finance and the Ministry of Finance 2010–2014.  
• News editor at France 24 TV in Paris, France, 2007-2008. News editor and reporter in Iceland for Al Jazeera, TF1, BBC, CBC, NRK, France 24 and other foreign news stations 2008–2009. Reporter at the RÚV newsroom 2009–2010. 
• Journalist, Radio journalist and TV Journalist in RÚV, Rás 2, Rás 1, NFS, Stöð 2 and mbl.is 2002–2007.  
• Mountain Guide in the Highlands of Iceland 1998–2003 and with other work 2005–2009.
