The whole day

THE AGORA STUDIO

In partnership with Ouest-France, Liberté, 20 Minutes and Radio Cristal

This studio will host the “TO GO FURTHER...” events to expand on discussions with the speakers at the debates/conferences, along with many other activities for the general public and high school students.

 

THE ATRIUM

Next to the Working for Peace area, the Atrium is open to all for short and informal discussions with the speakers and exhibitors in the Village.

 

WORKING FOR PEACE

Charitable associations, NGOs and public institutions will organise activities focusing on the key themes of the 4th edition of the Forum: “World peace and global security: how to govern peace?”.

 

POP-UP BOOKSHOP

The Normandy Bookshop association, represented by Au Brouillon de Culture, will run a pop-up bookshop, including book-signing sessions. You will be able to browse books by speakers attending the Forum, along with essays, novels and graphic novels on the Forum’s themes.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITIONS

There are four photographic exhibitions at the Forum: under the cloister of Abbaye-aux-Dames, in the central walkway of the Village, along the moat and on the outside railings of the grounds, avenue Clemenceau.

 

THE JUNIOR PRESS STUDIO

Created to host the activities of Young Normandy Reporters and the apprentice secondary school journalists creating the newspaper La Colombe, with help from Ouest-France, this area will showcase the dynamism of Normandy’s young people at the Forum!

 

LA TABLE AND FOOD TRUCKS

Enjoy a meal, a coffee or a drink from La Table or the food trucks next to it as you listen to the concerts which will be held at lunchtime and in the evening, between conferences and debates.

THE FRENCH RED CROSS NORMANDY DELEGATION

Attending the Forum for the 4th time, the French Red Cross raises awareness of health and social outreach work and international humanitarian law. The association will highlight violations of humanitarian law with an exhibition on the series Game of Thrones.

 

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL

Amnesty International is an NGO which operates independently of any government or economic interest. It works to put an end to serious human rights abuse all over the world. The organisation offers interactive activities on human rights education and anti-discrimination.

 

LES FRANCAS

Les Francas is an association which is part of a community education movement, providing education in addition to the school curriculum, and is recognised as being of public utility. Les Francas organises fun and engaging activities which encourage interaction, discussion and teamwork. The “Centre a’ere” initiative is particularly focused on the environment. 

 

JANE GOODALL INSTITUTE

The Jane Goodall Institute will discuss the Roots & Shoots project with the public: this environmental education programme for young people was launched by 12 Tanzanian teenagers with Dr Jane Goodall in 1991. Focusing on people, animals and the environment, the aim of this programme is to link these three elements in a single project to improve our lives now and in the future.

 

SOS MÉDITERRANÉE

The European Association for Rescue in the Mediterranean Sea is independent of any political party and any religion. It provides assistance to men, women and children, migrants and refugees, who find themselves in mortal danger when crossing the Mediterranean. In the Village, members of the association will present the three main missions of the association: SAVE, PROTECT, WITNESS!

 

CANOPÉ NETWORK

The Canopé Network’s founding mission is to strengthen the action of the educational community to ensure students’ success. Young people and their teachers can find out about the Network’s educational tools and Open Badges* to acknowledge their participation in the Forum.

*Open Badges are digital tools for recognition. They certify a skill or an area of expertise and they acknowledge a commitment, a role or a contribution. More information: BLN – Badgeons la Normandie

 

“TERRORISM TRIALS”, UNIVERSITY OF ROUEN

This initiative aims to shed light on current terrorism trials while looking back at the past, using visual and sound archives. Led by Antoine Mégie (a researcher at the University of Rouen) and Benoit Peyrucq (a courtroom artist for AFP), the workshop will give attendees the opportunity to learn how the legal system works through courtroom art.

 

ENSEMBLE CONTRE LA PEINE DE MORT (TOGETHER AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY)

Since 2000, ECPM has fought against capital punishment all over the world by uniting and mobilising abolitionist forces around the world. Various activities will be provided, including videos on the abolitionist view of the death penalty, quizzes and a game based on a map of abolitionist and retentionist countries.

 

AFOCAL

AFOCAL has been involved in education, youth work and training for 40 years.

The association will explain its “Citizens of Hope” programme which helps young people and educational stakeholders to better understand their role in peace and to serve the founding values of the European project.

 

INA: PUTTING PEACE TO THE TEST WEB SERIES

INA has created a free web series on the major peace agreements of the 20th and 21st centuries, focusing specifically on the theme of the 2021 Forum. Showing these memorable manifestations of peace, these videos open the debate on the old models of governance by states and institutions and consider the current crises and new contemporary issues which threaten these models.
