After two historic meetings between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump, relations between North Korea and the United States seem to have improved significantly. Last April, Vladimir Putin welcomed the North Korean leader to Russia, continuing the normalisation of diplomatic relations between Pyongyang and the international community and showing a clear willingness to engage in this dialogue. But can these negotiations, which began two years ago, be considered a success? What does the resumption of missile launch tests by North Korea tell us about the North Korean leader’s strategy? Lastly, is a rapprochement still possible for the two Koreas?
