Tatiana Kastueva-Jean has been the Director of the Russia/NEI Centre at Ifri since January 2014. She graduated from Ekaterinburg State University (1994), the Franco-Russian Master of International Relations (Sciences Po Paris/Moscow Institute of International Relations – MGIMO-University, 1998) and the University of Marne-la-Vallée (1999). Before joining Ifri in 2005, she taught international relations at the Franco-Russian Master's programme at MGIMO-University in Moscow.

At the beginning of her work at Ifri, she developed a rich expertise on issues related to youth, higher education and innovation in Russia: she is the author of the book Les universités russes sont-elles compétitives ? CNRS Editions, 2013. In September 2020, she published the book 100 questions de la Russie de Poutine (Tallandier).

Her current research focuses on Russian domestic and foreign policies and the evolution of Russian society. She also directs the trilingual electronic collection Russia.Nei.Visions.
