Peace cannot be decreed or governed as it was in the past: large-scale diplomatic conferences, summits and handshakes between heads of state can only do so much. In a documentary series produced for the web, the National Audiovisual Institute (INA) explores how these gestures – which remain etched in our memories – stack up against reality. The series casts a critical eye on the concept of top-down peacebuilding at a time when people are keener than ever to make their voices heard and when the most pressing challenges we face are economic and social in nature.
