Marc Semo

 

Marc Semo is a journalist who specialises in South Eastern Europe. He studied history at EHSS (1974-1979), worked as a correspondent in Rome from 1978 to 1988, firstly for Le Monde and then for Libération, then as a reporter for Libération from 1989 to 2003. He covered the wars in the former Yugoslavia and in Iraq, based in the Kurdish region. He has also reported on Turkey. Some of his reports have been compiled in a book entitled La révolution du Bosphore (The Bosphorus Revolution), published by Editions du Cygne. From 2003 to 2008, he managed the overseas department at the daily newspaper Libération. Since 2008, Marc Semo has been Editor-in-Chief of Le Monde, with responsibility for diplomacy.
