Conférence Technological revolutions: for better or for war? Edition 2020 Start of the session 02 October 2020 09h30 End of the session 02 October 2020 12h45 Plénière In our interconnected world, new technologies permeate our everyday lives and have an impact on multiple sectors within society. The management of Big Data, the use of artificial intelligence and the rise of facial recognition make it imperative to reflect on how these new processes are used and managed and to consider how the abuse of these technologies could cause significant instability, even in democratic countries. With the roll-out of killer robots, the development of new smart weapons and the expansion of surveillance, the military sector is also being reshaped and new forms of confrontation are emerging as a result of these technological developments.
