Nicole GNESOTTO is Professor Emeritus of the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM) and Vice-President of the Jacques Delors Institute. She is also a chair of the Scientific Council of the Grands Enjeux Stratégiques Contemporains in Paris1. From 2015 to 2019, she chaired the Board of Directors of the IHEDN (Institut des hautes études de défense nationale) – the first woman to be appointed to this position – and was also appointed associate member of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council

Nicole Gnesotto is a qualified teacher of literature and has dual expertise in strategic affairs and European issues. Most notably, she was deputy head of the Centre for Analysis and Forecasting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then director of the European Union Institute for Security Studies from 2001 to 2007. In 2013, she was a member of the White Paper Commission on Defence and National Security. She has notably published ‘Où va le monde?’ with Pascal Lamy, published by Odile Jacob in 2017, L’Europe indispensable, CNRS Editions, 2019 and L’Europe, changer ou périr, 2022 by Taillandier.
